Over the last year, much has happened. Some of my poetry and articles have been published locally and internationally. I am currently on the last stretch of completing a YA novel and have two children’s book manuscripts ready to shop for publication.

Most recently, I have converted my darkroom to digital format. After taking a Photoshop class at Newspace Center for Photography, a whole new world has opened up for me. Although I have basically learned photography all over again, a very frustrating process has led me to a place of inspiration. I am now creating images I could never create in the traditional darkroom. I am using RAW format to process images that have more depth, color and texture than ever before.

There are many projects on the back burner for the upcoming months. I am finding that I just don’t have enough time in the day to get to all of them! But amidst the creative chaos, I continue to practice mindfulness so that I can be present for others, still promote the ever-changing movement of sustainability to protect life on the planet, now and into the future, and I still take the time to not only cultivate my own creative work, but inspire the creative spark in others.

May we find this year to be one of understanding, innovation and integrity for all living beings!
